If you are in the market for a well-styled SUV which offers an alternative to extremely expensive large three-row crossovers, the Hyundai Santa Fe is the car to buy. The Santa Fe offers a nice mix of features for an affordable price and is very comfortable and easy to drive. The Santa Fe is a midsize SUV that can carry six- or seven-passenger that’s available in three trim levels and either a front- or an all-wheel-drive configuration. A solid and precise steering make Santa Fe a competent commuter. The suspension fitted in the new Santa Fe also delivers the comfortable ride quality expected from a car-based crossover.
Trims and Design
The Santa Fe offers three trims (SE, SE ultimate and limited ultimate). The SE impresses with its heated side mirrors, LED running lights, 18-inch wheels, dual-zone automatic climate control, a folding second-row bench seat and an adjustable driver seat. The Electronic features include a 7-inch infotainment display, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay smartphone integration, a rearview camera, Blue Link communications and a sound system with satellite radio.
The SE Ultimate can be set apart by its LED fog lights and standard 19-inch wheels. Some added standard features include a sunroof, heated front and second-row seats, leather seating, a heated steering wheel, ventilated front seats and the front passenger seat is power-adjustable The touchscreen infotainment system is 8-inches and has navigation and a 12-speaker audio system. Passengers in the third row have access to a USB port, while a 115-volt outlet is added to the cargo area. Other features include a proximity key with push-button start, rear side window sunshades and a hands-free liftgate. For safety, there’s blind-spot monitoring, rear parking sensors and a multiview parking camera system.
The Limited Ultimate is equipped with mostly the same features as the SE Ultimate except for one key difference: The seating arrangement reduced to six passengers because the second row has captain’s chairs instead of a bench.
The interior of the Hyundai Santa Fe received a bit of an upgrade in terms of space and the panoramic roof on the SE ultimate and the Limited ultimate. Aside from that, the Santa Fe interior is mostly made of plastics with highly textured soft-touch rubberized panels except on the Limited Ultimate trim which has rich-looking wood-grain trim. The Santa Fe has a sophisticated dashboard with a busy look that is made worse by a centre control layout with a lot of buttons. Ultimate trims have a list of luxury features such as leather seating surfaces, automatic climate control, heated and ventilated front seats, and a heated steering wheel to match.
