The BMW operating system 7.0 is a newly developed digital instrument display that offers functionality rivaled by none other in the automotive industry. the system promises to offer customizable information and greater ease of use. The system is entirely digital, and it has been made to the user’s requirements more with personalized displays and not only will it offer information to the driver, the information will be presented in a more organized and clear manner.
The gauge cluster on the cockpit will have a space to display a section of the navigation map alongside the driver-selected contents. This new display also creates a uniform system with the Control Display in the center console. this is similar to what you see on Audi’s visual cockpit but is a little bit more tech because of the choice the driver has on the contents to be displayed.
The Operating System 7.0 will support the iDrive Controller, touch control, voice control, and gesture control. This is a way of offering different options to the driver. some might prefer the voice control while others might want to navigate the system sing using the touch screen function.
BMW’s released photos showcasing some of the various modes the new digital cluster can display. There’s a normal display for everyday driving, an Eco display for fuel economy, and a Sports version with a more aggressive look that includes a G-meter and other performance-related information.
The brand didn’t disclose when we’ll see Operating System 7.0, but it seems likely it will show up in either the new 8-Series or X7 SUV.
