Volvo is planning to introduce a new Sensus infotainment system that will be powered by Google and will make your car dashboard screen look like a smartphone. The system is touted to offer most of Google’s services like the Google Play Store, Google Map, and the voice-controlled Google assistant.
The system which will be built based on the Google’s Android system is aimed at creating a more user-friendly and a more functional infotainment system that will make users feel more connected to their Volvo vehicle.
Also, many apps and services developed by both Volvo and Google will be available on the system from the start and thousands of other apps optimized for Android-based infotainment will also work with the Sensus system. The system will also be compatible with Apple Carplay.
This new infotainment system is said to hit new cars in a couple of years time. so we have to be patient. This might mean that the 2020 S60 which is meant to be unveiled around that same time might be the first car to feature the new system.
